India has taken a major step toward next-generation telecom technology by signing the Delhi Declaration alongside nine international organizations under the Bharat 6G Alliance. The signing took place during the India Mobile Congress 2025, marking a turning point in India’s ambition to become a leader in 6G innovation and standards.

The declaration emphasizes building secure, inclusive, and sustainable 6G networks through international collaboration. Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the initiative will strengthen India’s position as a global technology contributor rather than just a consumer. More than 100 research proposals have already been approved to advance 6G technology, with the government backing close partnerships between universities, private firms, and public research centers.
