The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast another rain-heavy month across several parts of India, particularly in the central and southern states. Officials say the monsoon system, which usually begins to withdraw by early October, has remained active due to persistent low-pressure formations over the Bay of Bengal.

Regions in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana are expected to receive above-average rainfall over the next two weeks. The IMD has advised farmers to plan crop protection measures and monitor local forecasts closely, as prolonged rains could affect the early sowing of rabi crops.

Despite disruptions, the department notes that the extended wet spell has helped replenish groundwater and reservoir levels across the country.
